Pollution Prevention

Keep water safe and clean by preventing pollution at its source. Storm water run-off carries oil and grease, fertilizers, pesticides and other toxic chemicals that collect on our roads, rooftops, and property. What we do on the land ends up in the water. You can help keep our creeks and lakes healthy by planting trees, scooping up after your pet, or stenciling a storm drain.

How You Can Prevent Pollution

Remember to report surface water pollution and spills, such as leaking automobiles, concrete dumped on the street, or paint poured down a drain. Seattle Public Utilities will send a field inspector to investigate the matter.
